Butterfly release day happened the day before our spring break departure. It was beautiful and sunshiny--a perfect day for butterflies to fly free. James surprised me by getting emotional over their departure, once they had flown out of the enclosure of our backyard. Even little boys can have sensitive little spirits. I love that. If I read correctly, their lifespan may be as short as two weeks. I didn't mention that to the boys...and I'm glad our "Ladies" had a little time to spread their wings.
